Outrage as Popular South African DJ Gunned Down in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been shot dead in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country struggling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the city centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the 40-year-old presenter was confronted by a trio of assailants, one of whom opened fire on him before escaping on foot.

Authorities indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was departing from a location near the Carlton Centre.

"The report indicates the victim was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," an official report said.
Surveillance tape reportedly depicted a individual with dreadlocked hair and wearing what resembled a security uniform shooting on Stock before running away.
The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but collapsed on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the incident.
