Stateside performer Finn, who appeared in beloved television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
