Brian Eno Urges Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down in the wake of a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby features a group of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song features a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
